3 June 2012. @ShopKana Fall lookbook photo shoot day. I didn’t know I could ever be happy to spend a day in New Jersey… at a playground… with kids for any reason. It was perf.

Try to stay open 24/7. It would be disappointing if someone brought a new idea, but you were closed to it.” ~ Russell Simmons

29 January 2012. One more day please. Words never associated with family visits, yet all I’m craving. It’s been so nice to be here; Achieved black-belt-level of dis-connectivity — everything outside feels like it can wait and/or it isn’t THAT important. Who am I?! And more importantly, am I dying?! Back in NYC, a Jamesy drop-by helps to smooth the otherwise stark transition.

18 December 2011.

“It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood” ~ Mr. Rogers

Today, I admit to my ski-aficionado group, that I’ve both enjoyed and had enough “adventure” for this first (operative word) ski-trip and I’d like to stay at the house and take in the unique tranquility that this sort of view offers and they should go on without me. So, I stay in, sleep in, tumblr-ize, squeak in some reading & cleaning just before the gang gets back.  From there it’s all stove-top hot chocolate (I forgot it was ever made that way, including in my household growing up), recaps of the soreness and pain that today’s better mountain, snow and skiing conditions produced… Followed by packing, goodbye hugs and sincere “until next times!”
Not to mention, I officially fall in love with Vermont (and discover Woodpeckers are not purely fictional characters).

16 September 2011. Long and varied day, but the way it began— with this message, and ended were by far the best parts.  I can hardly believe how peaceful things are right now.
